Department of Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy started its academic journey from the very inception of the college. This Department was established in 1972 in the intermediate classes. One year later, i.e., from1973 it was taught as a General subject in B.A. Pass course. Philosophy as an Honours subject began its journey since 2019. Teachers guided their students towards developing their talent in various field. Apart from the conventional classroom teaching, the Department organises various programmes with a view of enhancing academic standards of the students and inculcating social values in them. Some of them are: Seminar, special lectures, parent-teacher meeting. The Department of Philosophy organized Seminar sponsored by Indian Council of Philosophical Research. The students as well as teachers of this Department have clear access to the central library which is enriched with good number of books. The faculty members contribute articles in reputed journals. Teachers of this Department take part in Faculty improvement programmes like Orientation Programmes and Refresher Courses from time to time. They also join International, National, State-level seminars organized by different Universities and Colleges. CBCS semester system has been introduced from 2018-2019 session. There is a good relationship between teachers and students of this Department.
