About the Department:

The Department of Computer Science was started in 2004 under the leadership of Prof. Durjoy Roy, former H.O.D. of the department and Dr. Ashimesh Dutta Gupta, former teacher in charge of Kanchrapara College with an intake capacity of 15 students. Gradually the intake capacity increased and the present intake capacity of the department now stands near about at 40. The Computer Science Department has seen some improvements in the last 3-4 years in academics field under the leadership of Mr. Pinaki Das, H.O.D. The students of the department are now exposed to lectures of renowned professors in respective fields. Tutorial classes are arranged for the students every day after the regular classes. Extra practice laboratory classes are arranged for students before the examinations. Extra remedial classes are also available for SC/ST candidates. The students of first year of 2013-14 came out as toppers in Kalyani University. Every year students are getting chance to pursue M. Sc. in Rashbehari Siksha Prangan (commonly known as Rajabazar Science College), Vellore Institute of Technology (V.I.T.), St.Xavier's Collge, Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.), etc.
